Jinnah International is Pakistan International Airlines' primary hub, but the airport itself is compact and process-heavy rather than architecturally complex. Connections are straightforward in terms of distance—everything is in one terminal—but slow, manual security and immigration procedures make tight connections risky. Nearly all scheduled traffic operates from the single Jinnah Terminal building, so passengers walk between domestic and international zones rather than taking any shuttle or train. International arrivals must clear immigration and often a secondary customs/security check before reaching departure areas, and there is a repeated hand-baggage x-ray screening at the gate holding area for all passengers, domestic and international alike.
