We recommend at least 1 hour for a comfortable connection at Dubai International. The minimum connection time is 45 minutes for domestic flights and 60 minutes for international flights. Transit between terminals takes up to 60 minutes.

Dubai International is Emirates' mega-hub, built almost entirely around fast international-to-international transfers, with Terminal 3 alone larger than many entire airports. Connections within Terminal 3 (Emirates and codeshares) are efficient thanks to dedicated transfer security and an internal train, but connections involving Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (other carriers, flydubai) require a shuttle bus ride and can eat up much more time. Within Terminal 3, an automated people-mover train links Concourse A (dedicated to Emirates A380s) with Concourses B and C in a few minutes, and most transfers only require walking through dedicated transfer-desk screening rather than a full immigration-style recheck. Moving between Terminal 3 and Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 requires a landside/airside shuttle bus and a fresh security screening, which can take 45-60 minutes door to door.
