How It Works
What's MCT?
Minimum Connection Time is the shortest layover airlines will sell at a given airport. It varies by airport and whether your flights are domestic or international.
Why subtract a buffer?
You need time to deplane, clear any passport control, re-clear security, and be at your gate before boarding closes. We add 30 minutes on top of MCT for comfort.
Can I leave the airport?
If your usable free time is 3+ hours, you can often explore the city. We subtract round-trip transit time to show your actual time in the city.
