We recommend at least 55 minutes for a comfortable connection at King Abdulaziz International. The minimum connection time is 45 minutes for domestic flights and 90 minutes for international flights. Transit between terminals takes up to 35 minutes.

JED's new Terminal 1 is a single, sprawling building that consolidated what used to be five separate terminals, which simplifies wayfinding but means long walks between far-flung gates. Connections work reasonably well for Saudia's domestic-to-international network, but immigration and customs procedures for many itineraries — especially around Umrah and Hajj season — can turn a routine connection into a slow, congested process. Outside peak pilgrimage periods it's a manageable hub; during Hajj/Umrah surges it becomes one of the more unpredictable connection experiences in the region. Terminal 1 is built around multiple long concourses radiating from a central spine, so gate-to-gate walks can take 15-20 minutes on foot with moving walkways in the main corridors. Passengers arriving on remote stands are bused to the terminal, adding another 10-15 minutes, and this is common during high-traffic periods. There is no inter-terminal train; travel to the separate Hajj Terminal or South Terminal, when required, is by shuttle bus and can add significant time.
