Tips for 45 min Connections
Budget extra time if connecting through immigration, as Saudi entry/exit control can be slow even for transit passengers on separate tickets.
Check whether your connection requires you to exit and re-clear security landside, since not all itineraries stay fully airside.
During Hajj and Umrah season (especially the weeks around Ramadan and Dhu al-Hijjah), add at least an hour to any planned connection time.
If arriving on a remote stand, expect a bus transfer before you even reach the terminal concourse.

Getting Between Concourses
Terminal 1 is built around multiple long concourses radiating from a central spine, so gate-to-gate walks can take 15-20 minutes on foot with moving walkways in the main corridors. Passengers arriving on remote stands are bused to the terminal, adding another 10-15 minutes, and this is common during high-traffic periods. There is no inter-terminal train; travel to the separate Hajj Terminal or South Terminal, when required, is by shuttle bus and can add significant time.
