Tianjin Binhai (TSN) is primarily a point-to-point and regional hub for Tianjin Airlines and Okay Airways, not a major international transfer hub, so connection infrastructure is basic. Passengers connecting between domestic and international flights typically must exit security, collect and recheck bags, and pass through immigration/customs, which can eat up a lot of time. Purely domestic-to-domestic connections within the same terminal are straightforward, but cross-terminal or international transfers require more buffer than at China's larger hubs. Terminal 1 (mostly older domestic and some charter/cargo operations) and Terminal 2 (main terminal for Tianjin Airlines, Okay Airways, and most international flights) are linked by a covered walkway and periodic shuttle buses. International arrivals connecting to domestic flights must clear immigration and customs in Terminal 2 and recheck bags, as there is no dedicated transit security lane for international-to-domestic transfers.
