Chongqing Jiangbei (CKG) is a fast-growing hub for domestic Chinese travel and a secondary international gateway, built around the sprawling Terminal 3A. Domestic-to-domestic connections are generally straightforward, but international connections require a full immigration and customs process since China lacks a sterile international transit zone here, making tight international transfers risky. Most connections happen within the vast Terminal 3A, which uses long moving walkways to link concourses and gates. Passengers connecting via the older Terminal 2 must use an inter-terminal shuttle bus, adding significant time; all international arrivals must clear immigration and collect bags before rechecking in for any onward flight, domestic or international.
