Is CTU easy to connect through?
Shuangliu is Chengdu's original airport, now focused mainly on domestic traffic since international and many trunk routes shifted to the newer Tianfu Airport in 2021. Connections here are straightforward for domestic-to-domestic itineraries, but the terminal layout and required security re-clearance can make tighter international connections stressful. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are connected by a free shuttle bus that runs every 10-15 minutes, with a ride time of about 10-15 minutes depending on traffic and stops. There is no inter-terminal train, so passengers must exit security, take the shuttle, and re-clear security and (for international arrivals) immigration and customs on the other side.
