Almost all connections at SMF are domestic-to-domestic, so the tram ride between Terminal A and Terminal B is usually the only obstacle.
If arriving on one of SMF's limited international flights (mainly from Mexico), budget extra time for Customs and Border Protection processing in Terminal B before continuing.
Check which terminal your arriving and departing flights use in advance, as Southwest and some others operate primarily from Terminal B while Delta, American, and United use Terminal A.
