Passengers flying through Cape Air typically connect at the other end of their itinerary (usually Boston Logan), not at SLK itself, since the terminal has one gate and no onward flights to meet. There is only one small terminal with a single gate area, check-in counter, and a tiny waiting room, all within a few steps of each other.
