Genuine same-day connections are rare and mostly happen only on codeshare itineraries built by airlines that don't actually hub at PUJ. All movement between PUJ's palapa-roofed terminal buildings is on foot along open-air, covered walkways with no trains or shuttle buses. Because there is no international-to-international transit corridor, connecting passengers must clear Dominican immigration, collect and re-check any bags, pass through customs, and go through security again before reaching their next departure gate.
