Purely domestic-to-domestic connections are quick and simple, while any itinerary crossing the international/domestic boundary adds real time for passport control. LIM operates as one terminal with domestic and international gates on opposite ends of a shared concourse, so there is no train or shuttle — everything is done on foot. Passengers connecting domestic-to-domestic or international-to-international generally stay airside, but anyone connecting between a domestic and international flight must pass through Peruvian immigration and a re-screening checkpoint, which is the main source of delay.
