If connecting from an international flight, budget extra time for the CBP/immigration line, which can run 30-60+ minutes even for US citizens during peak arrival banks.

Any international arrival connecting onward — domestic or international — must exit through CBP, reclaim and recheck bags at the terminal's transfer desk, then clear TSA security again before reaching the gate area.
