AD PLACEMENT — CONTEXTUAL
Terminal 1, Terminal 2, and the Domestic Terminal are physically separate buildings linked by free shuttle buses that run every 10-15 minutes, with a walk of several minutes to reach the shuttle stop at each end. Because there is no airside connector, every terminal-to-terminal transfer means exiting through arrivals, boarding the shuttle, and going through full security screening again before reaching the next departure area. This landside routing is the main reason connection times at AYT run longer than at purpose-built hub airports.

Is 30 minutes enough for a layover at AYT?

30 minutes is below MCT for any terminal combination given the mandatory shuttle and re-screening process. See full 30 min guide →

Is 45 minutes enough for a layover at AYT?

Only barely workable for a same-terminal, same-zone connection with no queues, which is not reliable to count on. See full 45 min guide →

Is 1 hour enough for a layover at AYT?

Meets the domestic-domestic MCT exactly but is too tight for any transfer involving a terminal change. See full 1 hr guide →

Is 1 hour 15 min enough for a layover at AYT?

Workable for international-international connections in the same terminal but still tight if a shuttle transfer is needed. See full 1¼ hr guide →

Is 1½ hours enough for a layover at AYT?

Covers the domestic-international and international-domestic MCTs comfortably, including shuttle and re-screening time. See full 1½ hr guide →

Is 2 hours enough for a layover at AYT?

Comfortable for all connection types, including peak summer congestion between terminals. See full 2 hr guide →

Is 2½ hours enough for a layover at AYT?

Ample time even accounting for shuttle waits and long charter-season security queues. See full 2½ hr guide →

Is 3 hours enough for a layover at AYT?

Well beyond any practical need, leaving room for delays or gate changes. See full 3 hr guide →

Is 4 hours enough for a layover at AYT?

Excessive buffer for AYT's simple terminal layout, though useful if flights are infrequent. See full 4 hr guide →
